This two hour program is designed to give new and intermediate kayakers a jump start in kayak skills emphasizing safety, basic skill and stroke development and basic recovery technique. Participants will receive an overview of on-water safety, equipment use, forward, reverse and sweep strokes and recoveries. This class incorporates dumbbells, resistance bands, body weight and steps. It will take you through all major lifts to improve your overall strength, muscular and cardiovascular endurance. On this guided tour we will meet you at the Boathouse at 7 p.m. and paddle upstream on the Merrimack River. We will enjoy the sunset while floating on the water before heading back to the Boathouse in the twilight. Please come 15 minutes early to check in and prepare. Appropriate for adults and children.
